Megan and Dan - Maternity Photography Jackson, MI

I met up with Megan and Dan for a beautiful snowy maternity session last week. They were such a pleasure to work with. I love it when I get to work with awesome clients like these.

Isn't she just glowing? When we got started Megan told me she isn't very photogenic. My camera and I beg to differ! She is stunning isn't she?

Unfortunately along with beautiful snow comes freezing cold temps. Megan and Dan were serious troopers on this freezing cold winter's day though. The session included tons of laughter. Dan was having a hard time hiding the fact that he was freezing, lol. He blamed it on his warm weather roots. I don't blame him, I was all bundled up and I was freezing too! I think the fact that Megan has a baby growing in her belly helped to keep her warm!

They brought along one of the first photos of their little guy, and he appears to already be having a great time growing in his Momma's belly. I can't wait to capture his many faces once he arrives next month. This couple was wonderful and I cannot wait to work with them again!

10 on 10 - Jan 2014

So this year, in an effort to take more every day family photos of my own family I joined a 10 on 10 photography group. Never heard of a 10 on 10? Well, it's really simple really. Every month you pick a day and you take 10 photos throughout your day, and then you post them on (or around) the 10th day of the month. This is great challenge for everyone. Even if you're not a photographer, you have a camera on your cell phone. I'd love to see you join in on the challenge. The photos don't have to be of anything in particular, just whatever you fancy that day. How much fun is it going to be at the end of the year to look back on? I was having computer issues for about a week so I'm late getting my 10 on 10 up, but without further delay here they are!

I decided to start out the project getting some sweet images of my littles playing together. They're pretty far apart in age, 12, 7, and 2 so they don't always play so sweetly. I was folding some laundry, and noticed they were awfully quiet so I went to check on them, and when  I saw how wonderful they were being I just knew I had to capture it. Usually my 12 year old doesn't like having her little brother in her bedroom messing with her things, lol. Please ignore the mess. :)

I sat down near them with my camera, apparently my 2 year old wasn't sure what to think of that! Lol

Look how nicely they were all coloring that collaborative image together!

Then, the younger two must have had their fill of coloring, because they headed off to make themselves some play lunch. But not before my son decided he needed to share some love! <3

Can you tell he's my ham?

Then my oldest decided to bust out her duct tape she got for Christmas and start decorating everything in site. Her little sister decided to sit and watch. She even gave me a smile, I was impressed.

I unfortunately had to get back to doing laundry. But, not before my little guy had to show me a tiny cat he had found. "Look Mom, it's Mine!"

These are moments I'm glad to have captured! Can't wait to see what I find next month! ;) If you want in, it isn't too late to start! You can post them late for this month, like I did *wink wink* Or just join in on the fun Feb 10th! Be sure to comment below with a link to your blog so I can follow you too!

Oh, and if you'd like to check out some more 10 on 10's from our group, you can start here on Heather's blog! (<--Click that) See you next month! ;)
